Launching the SpouseClubs.com BLOG!

SpouseClubs.com (the website) was originally developed to connect military spouses with their installation and/or spouse clubs to make transitioning to a new installation a little easier. During the first 5 years, the website grew beyond its original intent. For quite some time it has been providing military spouses/families with links to valuable resources worldwide, including military oriented charities, scholarships, networking opportunities, DOD resources, and much more.  Recent upgrades include the incorporation of resources specifically for “overseas connections”, a guide to military insignias for the newcomers and downloadable military graphics.

As the host of SpouseClubs.com, I’ve received an abundance of email from spouses who have not yet found an online home; a place to connect with other spouses. There are many blogs and forums dedicated to military families and most are listed with links to their website on the MSN (Military Spouse Network) page on the SpouseClubs.com. website. However, I still receive a lot of mail asking for assistance, and occasionally it’s from a military spouse whose tone indicates they may be struggling. For that primary reason, SpouseClubs.com (the blog site) is being launched to reach out to those who seek guidance………or friendship from those who live similar lives.

The secondary reason is to provide a place where spouses (or significant others) may “speak freely”. Many popular blogs dedicated to military spouses are under the umbrella of another very reputable business which means there is a business protocol by which they must abide. That does not make them any less valuable…………in fact many readers find them more attractive as a result of their affiliation with a major corporation. This blog is privately owned and we have no corporation looking over our shoulder, which means there’s very little you can’t discuss here.

The only limitations on our authors or contributors are those they place upon themselves, and the restrictions on reader comments are the common sense kind; nothing that could put the security of our troops or our nation in jeopardy, no profanity, and we ask that you treat each other with mutual respect.

Your comments, questions and suggestions are welcome. If the authors and contributors (a mix of ranks, branches, and experience!) cannot provide some direction, we will research the topic and/or solicit help from our readers. It’s only through your feedback that we can identify topics of interest.

Thank you for visiting the SpouseClubs.com Blog. You are also encouraged to visit the many other networking opportunities listed at SpouseClubs.com/MSN and in the Blogroll.

    Dear Mz Spouse,

Hi I’m Senta Scarborough, a reporter with Us Weekly Magazine. I am trying to find some Navy wives who are located in El Centro, California where Prince Harry of Wales is training. I’d love to talk to a few of them to see how Prince Harry is being received on the base, if everyone is as excited as the rest of us are, and if they have heard any cute stories or gotten to meet him. I’d love to know more about life on the base–what Harry is likely experiencing. Any help would be very much appreciated. My deadline is Monday. Feel free to email me at sentascarborough@hotmail.com. Thanks so very much. This is such a great idea for a blog–one that really has a good purpose. Thanks and have a good day. Best, Senta
